Taft A. Francis, Jr.
Taft A. Francis Jr (aka Spookie) was the first child born to the union of the late Taft and Virgil Francis on December 30, 1940. He was a member of Rice's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Madisonville, TN until his health began to fail. He graduated from Charles M Hall High School, Alcoa Tn, Class of 1960. He was an Air Force Veteran and retired from TVA Watts Bar. He was a dedicated TN VOLS fans and a lover of all sports.
He was called home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Parkwest Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents Taft and Virgil Francis, sister Dallas Francis Love Jackson and Dorothy V. Donohoo.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters Carlis Francis and Tammy Francis of Knoxville Tn, grandchildren Christopher Davidson and DaNaja Francis of Knoxville, brothers James (Bo) (Leticia) Francis of Douglasville, GA, Nathaniel Francis of Madisonville, Tn; sisters Joyce (Robert) Jackson of Maryville, Tn and Easter (Joseph) Edwards of Maryville, Tn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews. Special Friends: Walter Cotner, Rudy Tate, Eleanor Fowler, Wanda Myers, Bonnie Upton, Marlene McClendon, James (JB) Smith, Mary Nell Sudderth, and Williams Family.

Family will receive friends on Saturday October 18, 2025 from noon - 1 pm with funeral service to follow at St. John Baptist Church, Alcoa. Interment will be Monday October 20, 2025 starting at 10 am at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery John Sevier Hwy. Knoxville. The body may be viewed on Friday at Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville from noon - 6 pm
