Karen Louise Coffin

Karen Louise Coffin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Karen was born to parents, Lloyd and Louise Coffin on August 19, 1950. She graduated from Alcoa High School with the class of 1968. She attended Knoxville College and later became employed there. Before retiring, she worked with several grassroot and non-profit organizations including Coal Employment Project, Southern Empowerment Project, and Haven House.

Karen was a dedicated Christian who loved God, and, as such, she communed with Him at length daily through prayer and meditation. During her lifetime, she was an active member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Abundant Life Fellowship, and Honey Rock Victorious Church. She adored her family and her church family. While Karen did not have any biological children,
she had numerous God children consisting of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She enjoyed family gatherings and bible study sessions.

Karen was preceded in death by devoted parents, Lloyd and Louise Coffin, and brother, William Fernando Coffin. She is survived by brother, Reginald Coffin (Rebecca), sister Eugenia Harris, aunts Joyce Tate and Jane Cooper, adopted aunt, Enid Wright, caring nieces and nephews, loving cousins, and lifetime friends including special friend Terry Ewing, and special friend and classmate Larry "Sham" Anthony, lifelong friends Debra, Carolyn, MaeMae and the Class of 1968.

Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – noon with service to follow on Saturday April 27, 2024 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Alcoa. Final arrangements entrusted to Foothills Funeral Home. www.foothillsfh.com ​
