Joshua Mecal Lalice Scaife Jr. was a young man whose presence was quietly powerful and deeply felt by all who knew him. A proud graduate of Alcoa High School, Joshua was known for his kind heart, calm demeanor, and unwavering authenticity. He carried himself with both confidence and humility, possessing a natural ability to connect with others. To his family and friends, he offered loyalty, protection, and genuine love.
Joshua was deeply family-oriented and took great pride in being there for those he loved. To many, he was more than a son, brother, nephew, cousin, or friend he was a protector, a supporter, and a steady source of strength. His individuality shined through in the way he lived, the way he dressed, and the way he remained true to himself. Joshua left lasting impressions through his warm smile, unique style, and quiet yet meaningful presence.
Born on October 18, 2004, in Maryville, Tennessee, Joshua is lovingly remembered by his mother, Rosie Shufford; his Pops, Andre Shufford; his father, Joshua Scaife Sr.; and his madre, Nicole Drew. He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Kentrell Davis and Andre Shufford Jr., and his sister, Aniyah Glass. Joshua was a devoted uncle to his beloved nephew, Kyro Davis of Maryville.
He is also cherished by his grandmothers, Donna Scaife and Patricia Davis; his uncles, Charles Johnson and Donnell Davis; his aunts, Belinda Johnson and Tanyetta (Tanya) Johnson; and his cousins, Chaz Johnson, Terranee Lewis, Tanetra Johnson, and Shawn Johnson, along with a host of cousins and extended family who loved him dearly.
Joshua entered the world with a spirit that would go on to touch countless lives. From a young age, he displayed resilience and strength beyond his years. Though his journey through life was brief, it was filled with purpose, love, and impact that will never be forgotten.
On December 14, 2025, Joshua gained his wings and transitioned as God called him to his next mission and divine purpose. While his passing leaves a profound emptiness, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will forever be remembered as a young king whose life mattered deeply and whose spirit will continue to watch over his loved ones as their forever angel.
