Herbert Jones

Herbert W. Jones departed this life on Sunday, April 6th 2025 in Maryville Tennessee. He was born to Jackie E. Singleton and Herbert Jones Sr. on August 18, 1942 Knoxville Tn. Herbert W Jones was better known as Pete was raised by his grandparents Dennis and Corine Jones. Pete continued to live in Alcoa, Tennessee until his adult life. He attended the Charles M. Hall School. After graduation he attended Knoxville College. As a young Adult he moved to Washington DC, where His Mother and grandmother Lucy Singleton, his siblings and best friend Bill Kelly lived. While residing in Washington DC he worked at US Postal Service. Years later he returned to Alcoa to help take care of his Momma Corine. Pete lived in Alcoa until his Health was failing. He moved into Foothills Rehabilitation center until his transition.

Preceding him in death were his Mother Jacqueline Singleton Powell, Father Herbert Jones, Step Mother Thelma Jones. Grand Parents Dennis and Corine Jones, Grandparents Samson and Lucy Singleton, and sister Jacqueline Wheeler.

Pete leaves behind his daughters Kristin (Diaz) Edwards Chattanooga, Shari Casey Lithonia Ga. His grandsons Carlton Casey II and Qion Casey Washington DC granddaughter Ava Casey. Temple, TX Bonus daughters Terry Ewing Maryville and Angela Manor Washington DC. And Bonus sons Quenten Anthony and Elder Kevin Atkins Alcoa. Sisters Helen (Jeanie) Banks of Maryland, Michel Powell, Washington DC, Cynthia Jones and Elder Paulette Pace of Maryville, twin sisters Cece Upton of Chicago, Aurelia Carter of Virginia, and Brother Larry Powell of Maryland. Host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

Our Family is thankful for care the staff provided to Herbert W Jones while resident at Foothill Rehabilitation Center. Thankful for care provided by Gentiva Hospice staff during transition. Special thanks to family, friends, classmates, Class of 94, Alcoa community who came to visit.
