Gerald Cox

GERALD L. COX, was born March 24, 1956, in Blount County to Hazel Garner and Gilbert “Bate” Cox. A graduate of Friendsville High School and later joined the Air Force, where he served as an airplane mechanic. After his tour of duty, he entered UT, leaving there for employment at ALCOA. There he was employed as an electrician, retiring after twenty-five-plus years.

His kindness and love for family earned him the nickname “HuggyBear” (Starsky/Hutch).

He is survived by daughters Nikita Cox, Clarksville, and Cora Adams, Maryville; brother Tony Cox, Knoxville; grandchildren William and Olivia; and great-grandchildren Bentley and Lilah. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside service Saturday at 1:00 at Hackney Chapel Church Unitia. Final arrangements entrusted to Foothills Funeral Home. www.foothillsfh.com
