Cathy J. McCord age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville Tennessee.

Cathy was born on July 27, 1956 to Clyde Raiford and Janie Mae Raiford. She was the youngest of 12 siblings.

She was a devoted member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as Deaconess and committed her time for many years.

Cathy was a graduate of Alcoa High School class of 1974. She also attended Morristown Community College and Pellissippi State Community College.

Aside from being a loving, and devoted mother and wife, she worked and retired after 31 years from the Aluminum Company of America.

Cathy had a knack for baking, gardening, and helping others. She was always willing to help and extend herself when she could. She will always be remembered by her smile, her love, and the compassion she showed to all who crossed her path.

Cathy is proceeded in death by her parents Clyde and Janie Raiford her siblings, OB Raiford, Betsy Raindrop, Clyde E Raiford, Virginia Henry, Doris Cook, Edna Green, Mary Salisbury, and Ted Raiford

Cathy is survived by her beloved husband, Dan of 40 years and her beloved son Chase. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters Tillia Raiford-Fox of Marietta GA, Wilma Raiford of Alcoa TN, and Linda Rhubottem (Johnny) of Gonzales, LA and a slew of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday April 12, 2024 at Foothills Funeral Home. Funeral service will start at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 13, 2024 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment to follow service at Sherwood Gardens. www.foothillsfh.com
