Born September 18,1953 in San Antonio, Texas, Brenda was adopted as an infant by Thomas and Inez Jones Williams. She spent her first few years traveling the country as a US Air Force child. Brenda attended school in Tennessee, graduating from Bristol Tennessee High. Several years later, she met and married Roscoe Goins, her loving life partner of 50 years. They were blessed with 2 children, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Brenda was also blessed to meet her birth mother, Barbara H Gaines, bonus dad, Reverend Clyde E. Gaines, and her siblings. Although her birth father was deceased, she also connected with her siblings on her father's side. To her great joy, she was welcomed into each family. She thanked God daily for the family that gave her life and for the family that gave her a home. Although a bit unusual, Brenda embraced each family. She felt truly blessed to have known and loved each one.
In April 2023, sadly and far too soon, her loving husband Roscoe passed away. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Elder Thomas M. and Inez Jones Williams, bonus dad Reverend Clyde E. Gaines, Sr; sister, Tonya Marie Williams; birth father, Robert (Bobby) Mimbs and siblings Curtis, Vanessa, Sandra.
Brenda is survived by her children: Roscoe J. Goins and Jaime Blevins, grandchildren: Khira Goins-Paxton, Isaiah Adams and Erica Goins and great-grandchildren: Malachi, Gabriel, Zella and Khalil. She also leaves her birth mother, Barbara H Gaines; sister, Traci Gaines-Shenault and husband, Edward, brothers, Pastor Isaac J. Williams and wife, Stephanie; Thomas M. Williams, Jr. and wife, Debra, Pastor Clyde E Gaines II and wife, Saunja; Robert Bernard Mimbs and Seth Mimbs. She also leaves brothers-in-law David Goins, Henry Goins and his wife, Joyce, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
